MEASUREMENT / REPORTING

Finish the report with a decision

A campaign report should explain what happened, what the evidence means, and what the merchant will do next. A list of totals without the original objective is not enough.

Use a consistent report outline

The outline works for a Shopify launch, retention offer, or collection campaign when the specific objective and population are filled in.

Report sectionWhat to include
PurposeObjective, audience, qualifying purchase, and observation period
Program activityDefined qualification, approval, and access stages
Purchase outcomeRelevant orders, returns, and later purchases where appropriate
Customer experienceCommon questions, unresolved concerns, and confusing steps
EconomicsAttributable campaign cost and the matching outcome
InterpretationComparison, external influences, limitations, and next decision

Use one set of definitions

Marketing, finance, and support can need different views of the same campaign, but their totals should refer to compatible periods and stages. Explain a change in definition rather than quietly presenting it as a change in performance.

Make the next action specific

A report might recommend clarifying the qualifying products, improving an access message, or revisiting the target audience. Tie each recommendation to the finding behind it. Avoid expanding an offer solely because many cards were delivered.

MAKE THE BRIEF SPECIFIC

Plan the Shopify incentive around a real customer action.

Bring the commercial objective, eligible purchase, customer promise, and unresolved operating questions. Start with the channel that fits your next step.
