Choose the level that fits the purpose
A product-specific promotion suits a focused introduction. A collection campaign can give customers more choice within a coherent theme. In either case, the Shopify merchandising page and the incentive terms should describe the same purchase.
| Approach | Best question to answer | Potential confusion |
|---|---|---|
| Named product | Why should this product be considered now? | Whether variants and related products also qualify |
| Defined collection | What shared need does the collection address? | Whether newly added or removed products are covered |
| Mixed basket | Which eligible purchase earns the benefit? | Whether non-eligible items change the incentive |
Keep changes coordinated
Merchandising teams may update collections during a campaign. The responsible team should decide what that means for the offer and preserve a clear customer explanation for purchases already made. A storefront edit is not, by itself, a revised incentive promise.
Review the product result
Look at purchases of the promoted merchandise, substitution away from other products, returns, and recipient questions. Total store sales can hide whether the intended collection actually benefited.
