PROGRAM DESIGN / OFFER TERMS

Put the important conditions beside the promise

Offer terms explain what a customer must do and what the merchant promises in return. A clear headline and a readable explanation should agree with each other.

Use a complete offer outline

A Shopify campaign brief should supply answers to these questions before customer messages are finalized. The outline is not a replacement for program-specific legal review.

  • Who is the offer for?
  • Which purchase and campaign dates qualify?
  • What benefit is connected to a qualifying purchase?
  • What next steps and timing should the customer expect?
  • How can returns or order changes affect qualification?
  • Where are the applicable card terms and support information?

Separate a reward from an immediate saving

Explain that the incentive follows the qualifying purchase when that is the program design. Do not imply a lower checkout price. A short summary can direct customers to the full conditions, but it should not omit a restriction that materially changes the promise.

Keep promotion terms and card terms distinct

The merchant offer explains qualification. Cardholder materials explain the actual card and its permitted use. For a Shopify collection offer, customers need both the conditions for earning the benefit and access to the terms governing the card they receive.

MAKE THE BRIEF SPECIFIC

Plan the Shopify incentive around a real customer action.
